Hasbro Ignite
Keynote presentation
What
Hasbro recently unveiled their highly anticipated line of toys through a dynamic Keynote presentation. The event featured a series of hosts who shared exciting news from Hasbro, unveiled upcoming releases, and showcased exclusive interviews and commercials. The entire presentation was packed into a thrilling one-hour event.
My role
Together with Anton Asberg, we lead this project in all the aspects of the animation. Not only creating the animations, but working closely with the technical broadcasting team to figure out the problems that we were facing: screen sizes and formats, synchronising with host speeches, deliverables (more than 100 files), etc.
This was, by far, the most challenging animation project I’ve ever faced. It was not only about producing content but making sure we delivered the right files, in an extremely methodical system that we designed, and that they all worked together.
How
Firstly, we made a looping animation played on the big background and floor screens, which showcased all of Hasbro's beloved characters in a captivating display without any repetition. This impressive feat lasted for approximately an hour, providing a real challenge for us.
We made lots of iterations of the same animation by using a complex file system that was designed using the power of Essential Graphics and Javascript in After Effects to it’s fullest.
To make things easier for the on-set technical team, we created a simple block system. We divided it into three sections: Intro, Loop, and Outro. The trick was to ensure that each section seamlessly connected to the others. So, we made sure the start and end of the Loop always matched with each other and with the Intro and Outro sections.
Lastly, in collaboration with the animator of Peppa Pig, I created this opening animation for the Keynote. I was in charge of animating and composing all of the elements coming out of the button when Peppa presses it.
