Motion Language

A personal project about web animation

What

Over the past year, I have dedicated much of my attention to exploring the realm of Web Animation. What better way to delve into this subject than by embarking on a personal project that revolves around it.

My objective is to create a comprehensive design and motion system that can seamlessly integrate throughout an entire website or app.

To kickstart the process, I decided to focus on the sphere as the central element and began experimenting with various possibilities associated with it. There was no scientific approach behind my final design; rather, it was a journey of trial and error until I discovered a concept that resonated with me.

As whole, all the designs should feel part of the same “world”. Not only how it looks but how it moves. This adds a new dimension to how the user will experience the product as a whole.

But how would these designs look in real-life situations? A design only truly comes to life when it is applied within a specific context. In this case, I wanted the design to be influenced by and interact with its surroundings. To achieve this, I carefully chose accompanying text that complemented and harmonized with the illustrations. The outcome was a diverse range of results, but they all felt interconnected because of the consistent use of the same motion and design language.
